What is a pip in forex trading?

A pip is the smallest standard price move. For most forex pairs it is 0.0001 (4th decimal). For JPY pairs it is 0.01 (2nd decimal). For gold (XAUUSD), one pip equals $0.10 move.

How much is 1 pip worth?

For USD-quoted pairs like EURUSD at 1 standard lot (100,000 units), 1 pip = $10. For a mini lot: $1. For a micro lot: $0.10. Non-USD pairs vary based on exchange rates.
